Day 1 – Arrive, Unwind & Explore the Festive Side of Modimolle
Aim to arrive at Bokmakierie Place by early afternoon so you can settle in,
unpack and immediately switch to holiday mode. Enjoy a welcome drink on the patio, take in the
quiet bushveld views and let the stress of the year melt away.
Check in and enjoy the pool
After the drive, a dip in the sparkling pool is the perfect way to cool down.
With solar power keeping things running smoothly, you don’t have to worry about
load shedding interrupting your Christmas weekend in Modimolle.
Visit a local Christmas market
If you’re here on one of the festive market weekends, head out to a
nearby Christmas or farmers’ market in the Waterberg region for last-minute gifts,
biltong, preserves and handmade décor. For dates and details, check the
Events page before you travel.
Sunset drinks at Koro Creek Clubhouse
End your first day with sundowners at the Koro Creek clubhouse.
The view over the golf course is especially beautiful at sunset, and it’s a relaxed way to ease into the
festive mood without having to leave the estate.
Day 2 – Christmas Eve: Golf, Spa & Christmas Lights
Christmas Eve is the perfect day to enjoy the best of
things to do in Modimolle – whether that means
playing golf, relaxing at the spa, or exploring the town.
Morning: Golf at Koro Creek
Start your day with a round of golf on the
Koro Creek Bushveld Golf Estate
course. The fairways wind through indigenous bushveld and you might spot zebra or antelope while you play –
a uniquely South African way to spend Christmas Eve.
Afternoon: Spa time or nature walk
For pure relaxation, book a pamper session at the
Koro Creek Day Spa.
Alternatively, take a gentle nature walk through the estate and keep an eye out for nyala, impala and birdlife.
Evening: Christmas Eve dinner & lights
Enjoy a relaxed Christmas Eve braai on the patio at Bokmakierie Place or book a table at the clubhouse.
Some years you may find carols or special Christmas Eve events in town – keep an eye on the
Events calendar for details.
Day 3 – Christmas Day: Sleep Late, Feast & Relax
Christmas morning in the bushveld has a special kind of quiet. Wake up to birdsong, enjoy coffee
on the veranda and take your time – there’s no rush to tear open presents at 6am.
Lazy morning at Bokmakierie Place
Open gifts with your family, make a festive breakfast in the guest kitchen, and spend some time around the pool.
With free Wi-Fi and comfortable lounges, it’s easy to share a few photos with loved ones while still staying present.
Christmas lunch at Koro Creek or self-catered feast
Many guests choose to book a Christmas lunch at the Koro Creek clubhouse, where someone else does the
cooking and cleaning. Alternatively, make your own festive spread on the braai at Bokmakierie Place –
our outdoor spaces are ideal for long, relaxed Christmas meals.
Afternoon: Bushveld siesta & sunset walk
After lunch, enjoy a nap in your air-conditioned room or relax with a book. Later, take a gentle stroll
through the estate as the heat of the day fades – it’s the perfect way to end your Christmas weekend in Modimolle.
